quote

Better to love God and die unknown than to love the world and be a hero; better to be content with poverty than to die a slave to wealth; better to have taken some risks and lost than to have done nothing and succeeded at it. -erwin lutzer

Day 5

Greetings from Haiti! This is Brittany McCormick writing this post. I started my day out by making bead necklaces and bracelets with some of the Haitian women. I learned that this is their only source of income, but it is enough for them to provide the things they need for their families. A typical salary in Haiti is less than a dollar a day, however, these women made twice that amount.

NVM is really focused on helping the Haitians become more independent instead of handing everything out for free. While these women are learning how to make jewelry, they are also learning from the Word of God. This morning we read in Ephesians about kindness and challenged the women to act this out in their own lives. It was really great to be a part of these women's lives today and to be able to come alongside them for  just a few hours of their day.
