commissioning

Here is our time of Commissioning and Packing.

It was a wonderful day and very productive.

Maybe...

Maybe God will this week...

show me how shallow my faith is...

reveal to me how much I truly do need him...

demonstrate His love to me in a way I could have never imagined...

wreck my notions of success...

destroy my selfish desires...

expose the ugly side of my sinful nature...

teach me how to handle grace like never before...

change me...

One thing I know for sure... God is here and there.  He is in Haiti.  He is there waiting.

"Oh Lord,  Help us leave all hindrances behind as we travel to Haiti.  Give us the joy that comes from being totally dependent on you and the peace which arrives when we trust you fully."

Chaos

As we prepare to leave next Friday I have had a few thoughts that I wanted to share:

1.  Life is busy under normal circumstances.
2.  Life is chaotic the days leading up to leaving for a week!
3.  Life and Death isnt easy.  In America or in Haiti.
4.  God is active in our lives in ways we dont even comprehend.
5.  Answers to BIG Questions arrive in God's perfect timing not according to our demands.

and more...

If you havent seen Aubree Dell's post concerning their security guards tragedy.. you need to go HERE.

I am looking forward to serving with all of you!

Haiti Elliotts: Medical Team Video

Haiti Elliotts: Medical Team Video: This is a video from a medical team from Genesis Church in Noblesville, IN that recently served here at NVM for a week. Watch it! But beware...

Watch this guys! It is a great glimpse into what we will be doing in Haiti - IN 2 WEEKS!

5 weeks

WE have our TICKETS.

It is a reality.  We are going to Haiti in less than 5 weeks now.

As your anxiousness arrives, meet it with some prayer.

"God help us be ready to experience exactly what you want us to see, feel, hear and do. "

Fire UP!

Remember:
Look for old suitcases.
get your shots done!
Try to make the last 3 meetings.

6 weeks

I pray that God will prepare our hearts to be ready to:

Listen

Love

Serve

in that order.

amen.

update

Hi all,

here is some important update information:

1.  Our next Meeting is Next Wednesday AUG. 10th at 7pm at the church.

If you havent done so, I still need 3 items for paperwork:

1.  Copy of Passport.
2.  Emergency Contact info sheet.
3.  Grace OFF-SITE liability waiver (I will have this at Wednesdays Meeting. )

I found this quote and thought it was very applicable to all of us as we prepare our hearts for this experience.

Better to love God and die unknown than to love the world and be a hero; better to be content with poverty than to die a slave to wealth; better to have taken some risks and lost than to have done nothing and succeeded at it. -erwin lutzer

see you all next week!
